The Williamson County Health Department, located at 1324 West Main Street in Franklin, is offering a free walk-in immunization clinic July 30-August 10 with no appointment necessary. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-10:00 am and 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Also, this year the Williamson County Health Department has an online option for immunization forms. Families new to Tennessee no longer have to sit and wait at the Health Department for forms to be completed. They can simply fill in the online form and attach their records and the Health Department will be able to email their new TN Immunization Records to start school.
7th GRADE STUDENTS
All students entering 7th grade are required by law to show proof of a Tdap booster. While many students may have already received this vaccine as part of their routine immunizations, 7th grade students must have this documented on a Tennessee immunization form, which is available from your child’s physician or the Williamson County Health Department. Students new to FSSD will need all required vaccines documented on this form and proof of a physical exam to enroll. These forms are available from your child’s physician or from the Williamson County Health Department. The forms should be submitted prior to the first day of class to the school your child will attend for 7th grade. It is recommended that you contact your child’s physician in the immediate future to obtain the needed vaccines and updated immunization form. Area physicians are typically very busy in late July and early August and it may be more difficult to obtain the immunization and form prior to the first school day. Students will not be able to start the school year without the updated vaccine and form.
