As the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) learns more about the coronavirus, it updates its guidelines for schools. The FSSD follows the response guidance made to all public schools by the CDC and the Tennessee Department of Health.
FSSD schools already have many practices in place due to the cold and flu season, which we will continue to implement and increase as needed. We want to remind students, families, and employees that the best ways to prevent the spread of flu, coronavirus, or other respiratory illnesses, is by washing your hands, covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing, and remaining at home when ill until you are symptom-free and/or fever-free for a full 24 hours, without the use of fever reducing medication.
We are monitoring information from the CDC on a daily basis for regular updates. We have a strong relationship with the Williamson County Department of Health and as cases are identified in our community, we will work closely with medical experts in the Department of Health to determine the next steps. As information becomes available to the schools, we will share it with you. For more detailed information about the coronavirus and FSSD’s response to date, please visit:
